Before we met up for this session, I took time to scout the location before the client and his mom arrived.  Shortly after being there, I realized my battery had malfunctioned and I had forgotten my backup on the charger back at the house.  Panic set in for a second but thankfully I had given myself enough time and our session was very local.  I jumped in the car and raced home.  Luckily my husband was home and could meet me half way to speed up the process.  I was 5 minutes late and the client had already arrived. I realized how bad it could have been if I had noticed this as we where starting to shoot.  The loss of time would have killed some great shots and good light not to mention a very unhappy client.  The takeaway from this is to always triple check batteries and memory cards before heading to a session.  Lucky for me I had a very sweet mom and son that didn't give me a hard time. Many clients I work with don't feel comfortable in front of the camera and this young man was no exception. It's hard to pose in a way that works for the camera and certain directions feel straight out stupid.  I might have had to work just a little bit harder to get this good looking Senior to smile but that's what I'm there for.  I really think he did an awesome job and got some killer photos to go with it.
