Jonah wanted to capture his surprise engagement to his girlfriend Carissa in a very special way. This is the beach where Carissa has spent many summers growing up, and the perfect location for Jonah's proposal. Flying in from Oregon the same day, they arrived a few hours later than originally planned as their flight had been canceled. It was supposed to be cold, windy with a chance of rain. Living in Oregon, that didn't face Jonah when we discussed if the weather was going to be an issue. We decided to move forward regardless. Thanks to the delayed flight that pushed the shoot a couple of hours, they ended up with the perfect weather as the sky was opening up and the sun came out for a couple of hours.

At one point during our session, I asked if they minded getting some sand in their hair by laying down. Carissa looked at me like I was crazy even having to ask. What is the beach without getting sand in your hair, was her reply? Needless to say, I understand why Jonah wanted to pick the beach for this very precious proposal.

There is no mistake about the joy and excitement for this day, and what the future will hold for them. They are the sweetest couple and I'm so happy for them. Congratulations Jonah and Carissa!
